The Purpose of Marriage
If you and your spouse have found
yourselves disconnected and struggling to make ends meet, then you are in the
perfect position to save your marriage.
In any event in which you see things beginning to dwindle, then you
should not hesitate to heal your marriage problem, but you should address the
marriage problem head on in an earnest attempt to keep the flame lit, the
emotional connection strong, and the ability to compromise without regret. The truth behind the matter is that a
marriage is never beyond the point of healing, and one should keep this concept
in mind when the more difficult aspects of one’s marriage come to light.
Generally speaking, the purpose of marriage is
not only to find the person that you can successful cohabitate with, but to
find that special person that you learn from, build on, and grow with. While some people confuse these concepts with
the purpose of marriage being more materialistic, such as increased income and
more extravagant belongings, it is worth mentioning that these items are not
lasting. The aforementioned items will
not provide you with anything beyond the tangible service that they offer,
leaving you void of deeper emotional connection.
To save your marriage, you need to be
conscious that no one is to blame, as conflict and apprehension are a never
part of living. If is not your fault,
nor your partners fault, for the problems that your marriage may be facing, and
you should acknowledge these issues as so.
The idea is to maintain focus on the dwindling relationship, maintaining
focus on your strengths, as a couple, as well as the fragments in the
relationship that may need assistance.
Marriage problems are not uncommon,
especially in the earlier years of marriage.
It’s important to remember that relationships will falter, they have the
ability to be repaired, and second chances are a recommendation, not a
rule. Marriage is meant to challenge an
individual to live cohesively with their soul mate, regardless of personal problems
and whatever difference the two of you may have. Take that challenge continue working to
overcome it, as the successes will be glorious if you are fortunate enough to
overcome the negatives to live happily within the realm of the positives. Marriage is a journey, not a walk. Enough it.
